for FMA training camp & holiday

5th FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL
Puerto Princesa, Palawan Island, Philippines
July 25 to 30, 2010

Now on its 5th, the convergence of FMAers is held every 2 years with the Philippines as the traditional host. In the past, the festival has attracted the participation of enthusiasts and their families from USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bosnia, Austria, Russia, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Japan and host Philippines. This time we expect the participation of UK, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Denmark and India. For the 2010 event, the organizers have lined up among the leading international caliber instructors and Grandmasters to teach in the 6-day camp.

As a regular preference, the camp is held in mountain resorts and beaches like the famous white sand Boracay Island in July 2008, and in 2006 in Tagaytay City at 2,000 feet above sea level overlooking Lake Taal- the world`s smallest volcano, and this time at Puerto Princesa, Palawan – known for its spectacular sceneries, crocodile farm, beaches and world heritage “Subterranean River” of 7 km. paddle boat ride in underground clear sea water.

The July 2010 6-day training camp will highlight among others, personalized instruction by leading Grandmasters of various styles, a cultural goodwill competition in individual and team Anyo, dinner gala night and awarding ceremony hosted by the host city, tour of the island, barbeque night socials and other wholesome entertainments. Also, examination and grading for those seeking promotion on belt ranks

While the martial artists are busy training, a list of special activities will be organized for their families and other non- training delegates.

In order for you to plan your trip, the following preliminary information will surely guide you. All rates are nearest estimates and may change upward or lower depending on circumstances. It is recommended that you reconfirm with your airline and on-line hotel bookings should you wish to extend your stay after the camp.

Participation cost : US$ 550 per person and those reserving or paying not later than January 30, 2010, US$ 650 not later than March 30, 2010, and US$ 750 for those paying on- site. All fees are inclusive of in-camp hotel accommodation (triple sharing), food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks), training, training kit (sticks, knife, patches, bag), gala night, certificate, shuttle for island tour (entrance or gate fees in tour sites are not included in participation cost) . An extra fee will be charged for single, twin and family accommodation upon request. An early request will help the organizers arrange your accommodation. It is recommended that you reserve your slot. The reserved venue can accommodate only up to 90 persons. As a standard policy among hotels, the date of activities must be reserved ahead to ensure the availability of rooms and facilities.

Average temp. is 28 to 30 deg. celcius or warm to moderate
Thick clothing is not recommended, occasional rains are however expected
during the season. It is recommended that you don`t travel with unnecessary and extra luggage. Casual and even formal clothes are reasonably cheap in the Philippines where the largest shopping malls are in every location. Government and private offices are open from Monday to Friday (some private offices are open on Saturdays), from 8:00 in the morning to 5;00 in the afternoon. Most offices except banks are close between 12:00 noon till 1:00 pm for lunch break.
At the camp, fresh and cooked food are served buffet during breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Food request forms may be filled up for those who have diet or food restrictions such as vegetarians, religion and allergies. It is important that you check the visa requirements to travel to the Philippines, not all countries are granted entry without visa. Philippine Immigration Law allows temporary stay up to 60 days and may require application and appearance if will stay beyond the allowable period. It is strictly prohibited to bring in banned materials and substances such as regulated drugs and narcotics, firearms and accessories (permits required).
Participants will be provided with kits and travel guides in the Philippines.
It is recommended that you pre-book your domestic flights to enjoy early booking discounts and seat availability.
Major credit cards are accepted in most establishments, shopping malls, banks and domestic airlines. Automated Teller Machines (ATM) are available in many locations. Domestic airline bookings can be on- line at cebupacific.com or philippineairlines.com, other airlines will be provided upon request depending on destinations, not all airline services the same routes. Upon arrival in Manila airport you will be met by a welcoming group who will assist you to your hotel. Participants will be accommodated in hotels pre-arranged by the organizers (for those coming earlier) with rates as stated above. Hotel and other personal cost prior to or after the camp are not included in the participation cost. The venue, Puerto Princesa, Palawan is about 1hr. & 15 minutes by jet from Manila. Philippine domestic airlines flies among the latest and modern aircrafts in the world. Participants are expected to be in the venue on 24th or 25th of July. Registration at venue starts at 8 o`clock in the morning of 25th. Training starts on 25th. Training schedules will be published and included in training kit.

  2. Пора и нам принимать участие в таких мероприятиях. Я в июле планирую ехать в Корею.
    Теоритически, конечно же можно успеть и на Филиппины, но сложно.

    А вот увидеть Ваши с Андреем, фотографии на этом мероприятии хотелось бы!
